一、 概述
电流互感器（CT）在电力系统中，广泛应用于一次测量与控制。正常工作时，互感器二次侧处于近似短路状态，输出电压很低。运行中如果二次绕组开路，或一次绕组流过异常电流（如雷电流、谐振电流、电容充电电流、电感启动电流等），都会在二次侧产生数千伏甚至上万伏的过电压。这不仅给二次系统绝缘造成危害，还会使互感器过激而烧损，甚至危及工作人员的生命安全。

一、 用途功能：
本保护器主要用于电流互感器二次侧由于各种异常引起的过电压保护。该保护器并接于电流互感器二次绕组的两端，正常运行时泄露电流极小，呈高阻状态。由于漏电流极小（小于1mA），对该回路保护动作值和表计准确精度的影响可以忽略不计。此时保护器控制电路不工作。
当电流互感器二次回路开路或一次侧绕组出现异常过流时，在二次绕组中产生的电压高于正常运行电压，（其数值取决于电流互感器本身参数和运行工况），CTBD系列保护器能在过电压产生时有效地被限制在50ns内，从而彻底避免了过电压危害并可靠地将二次绕组短路并发光提示，同时提供一组闭锁差动遥信接点。故障排除后，将其复位即可重复使用，动作寿命可达万次之多。避免了保护动作后更换保护器的麻烦，运行更加方便。
